Ninth Court of Appeals
Charles Kreger was born on June 27, 1959, in Klein, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1982 from the University of Houston. In 1985, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. For 18 years, his law practice emphasized business and consumer litigation, from both prosecution and defense, as well as family law, as a member of a small law firm and as a solo practitioner, with jury trials in courts all across the State of Texas, as well as appellate law. He was elected to the position of Justice of the Ninth Court of Appeals, Place 2, in 2004 and re-elected to a second term in 2010.
Justice Kreger remains actively involved in the communities which the court serves through community service projects and frequent speaking engagements for civic organizations, schools and local legal organizations. Justice Kreger is a graduate of the Texas College for Judicial Studies where he continues his legal specialization in appellate law. He was recently selected as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation for his continuing contributions to the Texas legal community.
Justice Kreger serves as a director of the Woodlands Bar Association, is a past director of the Montgomery County Bar Association, and has served on the boards of various other civic organizations.
