Allen v. United of Omaha Life Ins. Co., No. 02-06-00187-CV (May 17, 2007) (Gardner, J., joined by Holman and Walker, JJ.).
Held: When the corporate beneficiary of a key-man life insurance policy merged with a second company and the second company was the surviving entity, the second company was entitled to collect the insurance proceeds upon the insured's death even though the policy's beneficiary designation was not updated to name the second company and the insured was no longer affiliated with either company at the time of his death.
