Committees 

All subcommittees are charged to:

  • Independently convene and conduct meetings to fulfill the committee charge and distribute appropriate assignments among committee members.
  • Each committee may rely on previous, relevant work of others to efficiently carry out its mission.
  • Give an oral progress report to the full JCIT membership at each meeting of JCIT.
  • Provide a written report on committee activities to the full membership of JCIT once a year.

Processing Time Subcommittee

Review and update the report sent to the Supreme Court in October 2020. Make recommendations to the court based on the revised report.

Redaction Subcommittee

Review the existing placement of redaction in the eFiling process. Make recommendations for any changes needed to better ensure data that needs to be redacted is redacted and data that does not need to be redacted is not.

Access to Criminal eFiling Subcommittee

Review existing recommendations and revise as needed in order to recommend the addition of criminal eFilings to re:SearchTX.

Cybersecurity Subcommittee

Make recommendations for judges, coordinators and clerks on what they can do with little to no IT support to effectuate a better cybersecurity posture. Develop a checklist for Judges, Administrators and Clerks to use to determine the status of security protocols in their jurisdictions. Act as a training resource for courts.

Standards Subcommittee

Review and implement standards for technology related to the courts. This committee can add other JCIT members as resources as standards development dictates.

eFiling Subcommittee

Review implementation of e-filing. Monitor bills and legislation relating to e-filing. Assist vendor locally with contacts to stakeholders such as the county commissioners and district and county clerks.

Rules Subcommittee

Develop statewide rules for e-Filing for JP, County and District Courts. Develop public access to court record rules that protects sensitive data but allows method for the public to access records remotely.
