The Judicial Branch Certification Commission certifies and regulates private professional guardians. Private professional guardians are individuals who are engaged in the business of serving as guardian of the person and/or estate of wards.
Individuals who do not provide guardianship as a business (for example serving as guardians for family members or friends) are not required to be certified by the JBCC. They are, however, required to register the guardianship. For information on guardianship registration, training, and other requirements, please refer to the “Register a Guardianship” page.
For information on applying for guardianship registration, requirements to register, training, and etc., please refer to the Register a Guardianship page of our website.
