Anders Guidelines & Forms
If you plan to file an Anders brief and supporting motion to withdraw in a criminal case pending before this Court, please take note of the information contained in the Court's Anders guidelines . As with any brief, compliance with Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 38 is required. See the briefing checklist for a complete list of requirements. These Anders guidelines supplement but do not replace the briefing requirements.

New Clerk of the Court

Deborah Young has been chosen by the First Court of Appeals to serve as its new Clerk of the Court. She replaces Chris Prine who recently retired after serving for 10 years as the Clerk of the Court.
New Chief Staff Attorney

Anne Marie Greenwood has been chosen by the First Court of Appeals to serve as its new Chief Staff Attorney. She replaces Janet Williams who recently retired after 30 years at the Court. Anne is also the Senior Chambers Attorney for Chief Justice Adams.

TRAP 34.5(a)(13) now mandates that the clerk's record include "in civil cases, any supersedeas bond or certificate of cash deposit in lieu of a bond." Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 34.5(a).
