Fifth Court of Appeals

Justice Tina Clinton currently sits on the Fifth District Court of Appeals, Place 9, an intermediate appellate court for the State of Texas. Previously, she was the presiding judge for Criminal District Court 1 and County Criminal Court 8, both serving Dallas County, Texas. She has also served as a municipal judge, defense attorney, and prosecutor. As of 2025, she started her 19th year as a judge.
Justice Clinton teaches throughout the state for organizations like the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Center for the Judiciary, as well as nationally. She is one of the few judges in the state that has had the honor of teaching at the College for New Judges. She sits on boards including the Texas Bar College. She helped found the North Texas State Criminal Inn of Court and actively mentors through clerkships and collaborations with law schools.
Justice Clinton’s family grounds her and brings her joy. She also enjoys coffee, scuba diving, hiking, and video games.
