Authority to Work in the US

Under the Judicial Branch Certification Commission (JBCC) Rules, section 3.1 establishes the requirement of all individuals seeking certification, licensure, or registration to provide proof of authorization to lawfully work in the United States (US). 

• Misc. Docket Order No. 26-9067 effective October 01, 2026.

When initial and renewal applications are received, individuals seeking certification, licensure, registration, or renewal of a certification, license, or registration must upload a copy of an acceptable form of proof that they're legally authorized to work in the US from the list below.

Applicants who have submitted an initial application or renewal application that has yet to be approved as of 10/01/2026 must upload the required documentation to the secure site as well.
